Florida Panthers Take Early Lead in Stanley Cup Final

Oilers Down 3-0 in Game 1

The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night. The Panthers, who are favoured to win the series, dominated play throughout the game and outshot the Oilers 39-23.

Aleksander Barkov, Sam Bennett, and Gustav Forsling scored goals for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves for the shutout.

Connor McDavid, the Oilers captain, was held pointless in the game. He was also a minus-3.

Game 2 of the series is set for Monday night in Edmonton. The Oilers will need to win to tie the series and keep their hopes of winning the Stanley Cup alive.
